Founded in 1994 by Richard Denchfield, our company was born out of a desire to create an all-natural product that would evoke the joy of the holiday season and the togetherness of family. With his background in the health-food industry, Richard’s passion for clean, wholesome ingredients led him to develop a blend that contains no sugar, salt, caffeine, or preservatives—just pure, natural flavor.
What began as a small, family-driven operation has grown into a trusted partner for apple orchards, wineries and farm markets across the country. Richard’s hands-on approach and genuine relationships with customers have shaped the heart of Olde Tradition Spice, creating connections that have lasted for generations.
A New Chapter
In 2023, Richard’s son, Branden, took the helm of Olde Tradition Spice after years of working closely with his father. Branden grew up attending trade shows, packing orders, and learning the business from the ground up. With a business degree from the University of Maryland and professional experience in supply chain, marketing and management, Branden brings a fresh perspective to the company while maintaining the same family values that made Olde Tradition Spice a success.
Under his leadership, we’ve become the #1 mulling spice seller online, and our commitment to quality and customer service remains unwavering. Richard still plays an active role in the business, staying connected with longtime customers and supporting the company’s growth.
